I'm playing USSR and am at war with practically everyone. Turkey however decided this would be a nice time to declare war on everyone else and I decided to add them to my alliance. Great, now my Black Sea Fleet can become the CCCP Mediterranean Fleet!

Nope, Turkey has decided I am not allowed to move into the Med even though we are allies and even after DOW-ing the US (because there's never enough of a good thing) and thereby being at war with everyone I am at war with.

Short of kicking Turkey out of my alliance, DOW-ing them and then taking the straits by force, I don't see a solution.

I have screenshots if need be.

The only reasoning I can think of is that I am not at war with all the nations Turkey is at war with, such as Cameroon, Guinea and Madagascar...

Even so, I am an ally and I want my access! ;)

This could be the problem, that you must have the same enemies as turkey, but i´m not sure...

I think requesting military access into turkey should make the strait passable if the AoD Devs would consider it for a patch...

I'd need to look up the right one, but I'll post some screenshots first. In the screenshots you can see Turkey denying me access, me being an ally and the few countries I'm not at war with but Turkey has DOW-ed.

I think the problem, as pointed out above, is that Turkey is at war with a few nations I have just not bothered to declare war on. It is a bit odd to see Turkey declaring war on Cameroon and maybe the AI figures: you're not at war with Cameroon, so you're not a full ally, despite Turkey being part of my alliance. Turkey DOW-ed about half a dozen nations, as I was proceeding into the Middle East / Africa and after that, I added them to my alliance, but did not declare war on all nations Turkey was already at war with.

Ok, I think this is the right one.

The problem seems to be that you are not allied directly with Turkey in any of your common wars. Since Turkey declared war on those countries before you allied with them, the game is counting them as separate wars. If you declare war on someone else, Turkey will join your new war and you can get through the Bosporus. Try declaring war on Haiti.

Well, that does solve it, but why should that be necessary? We are allies, we are at war, I should have access. It should not bar me from using the straits out of spite just for not declaring war on Cameroon...
