turning music down

is there a way to do this?

i cant find the place to turn the music volume down.

i have a hard time reading when i have music blasting so loud in my ear.

i can read fine if it was turned down a bit.

Well, I am looking at a really early interface, but can't you do it in game by selecting menu then options?

well there wasnt the option in 1.0 version but now i see it in the 1.1 version

It was definetely there in 1.0... I definetely used it.

I'd much prefer the option to turn the sound off. It still uses system resources even if the volume is zero. Is there a way to do this?

There is a file in the HoI2 directory, called config.cfg (if it's not that one it's another with similar name). Open this file file in a text editor, if you see normal text you have the right file. You can change the number for music to 0.

Or you could rename the music folder.

I tried renaming the music folder and got a 25% decrease in cpu usage.

But other games have options for music/sound effect OFF. It shouldn't be that difficult.

There used to be a set up program that did it, but that was removed, long story.

I certainly turned the music down in 1.0, but I had to start a game and do it from the options there, wasn't in the options you can chose before starting the game.

In settings.cfg change music to 0.

Again if you want to play with no music you are best to rename the Music folder.
