You can talk to Kretoxian about the OOBs, he's taking care of them now.

Until i don't receive the internal beta there's nothing i can do except for information gathering...

I have already uploaded and will send to the team soon.
@ hansnery: Your divisions_types file is wrong at d_01 etc... You can only have one instance of infantry = yes, or any other class of unit can only have ( class of unit = yes) once in that file.

Surprised it didn't crash.
Didn't know that. But it works with no problems.

Have you got your error checker set to 1. Because you should...

EDIT: I'd hate to think there were 86,000 errors just hiding there...

EDIT2: Don't worry too much if there are, as we can sort it fairly quickly, I think?

You guys can download it? Because mediafire keeps telling me that it's set to private and only hansnery can download it...

Hansnery, regarding OOBs and Hq units. I think that each army in the OOB, should have its own Hq unit, i explain:

Take for instance the Austrian Army OOB:

Code:
REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA

AUSTRIAN ARMY

Österreichischen Bundesheer
(Order of Battle in case of “Operationsfall A”, a Soviet attack.)

Many thanks go out to a contributor of this detailed OOB who would prefer to remain anonymous.

In this case, Austria would only have one Hq unit (Armeekommando), while for instance, USA, for USA Forces in Korea, would have another one and so on... what do you think?

Also, regarding air forces... each air unit in the game what is it supposed to represent? an air regiment? a Squadron?

Hansnery, regarding OOBs and Hq units. I think that each army in the OOB, should have its own Hq unit, i explain:

Take for instance the Austrian Army OOB:

Code:
REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA

AUSTRIAN ARMY

Österreichischen Bundesheer

In this case, Austria would only have one Hq unit (Armeekommando), while for instance, USA, for USA Forces in Korea, would have another one and so on... what do you think?

Also, regarding air forces... each air unit in the game what is it supposed to represent? an air regiment? a Squadron?

In this case it's in battalion size so I'm not really sure if this counts as a HQ ingame, but I think there's no problem as long as it's not too OP. For the airforce I noticed the same in the Soviet OOB as most air units were in regiments, but what I did was to put it there with lower strenght. But I don't know very well the military structure as I only did the Soviet's land units OOB.

EDIT: I've just checked and the Russian air regiments are equivalent to air wings.

Seems kind of unfair to make it so small countries don't have HQ. Same time, their armies are small so probably don't need them.
Just a few things that are questions/concerns
1) Tech Teams. I can see this making a lot of sense for Western nations. After all, their tech teams (ie Boeing) are still around. But Soviet ones like the KGB and GOSPLAN aren't. How should this be considered? Not to mention all the ComBloc state companies that stopped existing.
2) Ideologies once again: seems a better/more accurate consensus is forming over these pages of discussion, sounds more satisfying now.

I've seen a lot of good ideas about the ideologies. But I will try to keep them as generic as possible to fit more nations. The current ones I wasn't satisfied with was Totalitarian Socialist, and Autocratic, but a lot of good ideas came in.

I think you would have a SOV set of tech teams, and a RUS set of tech teams, and they would be very different. So SOV would become RUS if Putin gains power...

That makes sense. But what about countries that don't stop existing but did change regime? Ie Poland (who were noted to have desirable, compared to neighbours, consumer items). Does FRG get GDR tech teams at reuinification?

@hansnery good on the ideologies, sounds like nice middle ground has been found.

I do have a *pet* question though: will the Northern Irish trouble (at their height in this period) be represented? That would be super neat....

Will there also be a chance that SOV stays SOV if Putin gains power? If USSR manages to survive into 1990s and even into 21st century, imagine all oportunities that are avalible for someone like Putin. He could become KGB chief in meantime, and eventually he could try to become Premier/Chairman/Secretary-General/Soviet President or whatever position will be considered strongest at that moment. Putin as leader of USSR, that would be surely an epic twist. Altough I think that Lukashenko should also get a chance to fulfil his dreams.

I've been planning a alternative course in case Gorbachev continues his alliance with Boris Yeltsin and if Yeltsin eventually succeeds Gorbachev, Putin may succeed Yeltsin in turn, but not as the head of Russia but of the Soviet Union.
