Probably just me. How do I get a port down in Spain? I thought every time you 'colonized' a province on a coast it would establish a port? It did, in England and Bret ... in France. But I got that province in Spain (forgot the name, but the one where it tells you to build an army of at least 25,000) -- well put enough colonist down there. Have a 'city' I guess, since I am able to build troops there, but there is no PORT???. Now I am supposed to go off fighting the Mama... and haven't even located them yet (I know, their at the far end of the mediterranean sea). Am I going to have to march overland? (Version 1.08) Thanks.

Not all coastal provinces have ports associated with them (not good enough harbours, I guess). However, as a general rule, click on a province and if you see a shoreline with water, it will have a port. If you don't see any shoreline, it's just like an inland province.

This drove me nuts until I asked on this board and someone pointed that little bit of information out to me.

Have fun and feel free to keep asking. :)

It does have water but ...

I wonder if it is because I haven't sent a fleet to the 'terra incognito' of that bit of ocean? So, even though water is showing along the edge of the province, it may not be registering. On the other hand it may just be the 'harbor' problem, which would make sense also. Thanks.
