I'm playing the Mac version of CK, so this may be a problem related to that. Not really sure. However, I keep getting "Twelve Months' Income: Pay Up" events without doing the trigger (hiring someone to tutor one of my kids). I also noticed that, sometimes, when I selected the tutor option, I'm not charged but, in fact, someone else is. Is this a problem consistent with all versions of CK, or just Mac?

I don't know if this is the cause of the problem, but did your primary title change in this game and did you then save and reload ?

If you didn't do that, then that might cause the problem.

Nope. I get this problem consistently, regardless of the situation of the game. Though, in some instances, I've had it go so far as to charge money to a dead person (one of my previous rulers was slammed with the event enough to go something like 10k gold in to debt... all of which came after he expired). Seeing as you don't have it, I'm guessing that this is an issue with the Mac version. Of course, it might be a problem with the Vanilla CK that I could fix with IP or BOPACK/SMACK.

Nope, events targeting wrong people like that is a Mac issue. I have not heard anyone report anything of the sort from the PC version.

It's definitely on issue on the Mac side

I get it to, sometimes. The pro is the bug works for you about half the time -- when you get an event that says it charges 12 months income somebody else pays.

Events also fire for dead rulers, but if you do a save/re-load you should fix that problem. Some part of the game doesn't notice Louis II of France died, so Louis II gets events for the ruler of France even if you're on Louis X.

I contacted the Mac porting house. Strictly speaking they cannot have screwed this up, because they leave Paradox's code untouched when they port games. That makes sense -- it's cheap, Paradox games aren't blockbusters, the Mac market's small to begin with, and getting cross-platform multiplayer to work is a major bitch if there are ANY differences in the software.

Presumably the porting program does something slightly differently than Windows does, so code that runs fine on Windows runs 99.9% fine when ported.
