If there's an inheritable trait like Strong or Genius that one twin receives at birth, then both twins should receive it. This will require some special coding to prevent Twins from having double the chance of inheriting such traits.

They aren't necessarily identical twins, of course.

I agree, but I don't think the game makes such twins; they do have male-female twins but I think the game otherwise considers them "identical" for DNA purposes. I'm not looking for a completely accurate simulation that covers all the bases; just one that makes more sense for the common ones. :)

If the twins are sometimes male-female, that seems rather to be proof positive that "twins" does not mean "identical twins." Since fraternal twins are more common than identical twins anyway, I think the current system makes a great deal of sense.

Again, without coding a full twinning simulation, this is more trouble than it's worth. I suspect the game simply randomly gives each genetic trait from each parent a chance of being inherited. It's relatively simple to change this so twins come out the same way, which is what people expect. Changing it to support different sorts of twinning is great but probably too much to ask for.
