So, just for fun I tried to create a few new claimable duchies, those of Bar and Elsass to be precise. I changed their entries in the config files, gave them CoAs and entries in countries.csv and all that (I had successfully added new Kingdoms in the past, but ONLY Kingdoms), and of course added U013 (the tag I gave Elsass) to the DUCAL column for the provs Sund/Nordgau in province.csv, so that it should be the claimable duchy for that area.
I load up the game as the count of Sundgau (and Nordgau) who should be able to claim the Ducal title right from gamestart, I click on "Create Title"...
... and it says I can create the title of "King Of Elsass!"

What the hey? Does this mean that the U0## tags are hardcoded to always be Kingdoms? Has anyone tried to create a new DUCHY out of them and succeded? If so, please tell me what I did wrong! :)

If it is like I fear, and only new Kingdoms can be added... dang, that's sad. :(

That is certainly possible, but would involve changing scenarios and whatnot to avoid sillyness, something I'm not really up to. So if there is a way to use the U0## tags for duchies I would be very much delighted.

You can youse the U0## Tags all 19 of them, and yes you can replace tags in the Province file, with the U0## tag in the dutchy colum, you dont have to edit a scenario in order to get it.

Ive created the Kingdom of Prussia with jsut using 4 files from CK lol, oh not including the flag lol.

I added U013 in the duchy column and in-game it was claimable as a Kingdom.

Yes, the Uxxx tags are hardcoded as kingdoms. It's the same with many "real" tags as well, they are hardcoded to be a duchy or a kingdom and you cannot set them up as the other unless they exist at scenario start (such as Pisa, which is hardcoded as a kingdom but set to be a duchy in the 1066 scenario).
I have no idea why tags have to be hardcoded to a specific tier, but there you have it.

How silly. :( They could at least have made half the U## tags Kings and half Duchies... There goes my plans for a new Europe out the window...
