Been having an issue and been doing everything I can to troubleshoot. Currently trying to install this game on an HP laptop dual booting Ubuntu and Kali. My system specs are fine. Currently when I load the game in Ubuntu everything works fine till I get to the main menu. None of the maps load in the editor or to start new game. When I try to just start the game it loads to about 50% then freezes my computer completely. I've tried verifying the cache in steam. It tells me the are 500 and something files it needs to verify. I let it do its thing. Immediately when its done I can click verify cache and it tells me that it has 500 and whatever files to verify. I've checked that i'm running version 1.0.5. Turned off the run steam overview mode (can't remember what its called) Tried installing the microsoft version through wine to no avail. Tried installing on my macbook but the graphics card can't handle it. At this point I'm at my wits end, have put like 6 hours into troubleshooting it, and about to say screw it and fight the good fight with steam to get my money back, which i probably won't win. Anyone have any solutions???

Have you tried leaving it to load for a while even after the computer locks up? I'm running Arch Linux and when the game is loading a map things can lock up for a while with the loading bar freezing. First time I started a city I think it took 5-10 minutes to finally get into game but after that things worked smoothly.
