Hi,

I'm completely new here, and have not even been playing AoD long (or, indeed, any HOI game).

I'm in AoD 1.07 and CORE 0.6, playing as the UK, and I was a bit surprised to find that none of the events surrounding Germany's invasion of Poland triggered, even when Poland became annexed... I waited about a year! I've had all the mobilization events from around that time, and a lot of the previous political events. I've read elsewhere on the forum that this kind of thing can be triggered by playing "non-historically", but I'd be interested to know what kinds of thing that could mean. As fas as I was aware, I've made 100% historical choices so far... i.e. no wars, the usual responses to previous events, etc. And yes, I am GoI for Poland, as is France (they've not declared war either).

Any thoughts?

thanks,
Rob

Not all things have to be event-driven you know... ;) If you're playing ENG, and have enough interventionism, it's up to you to declare war on Germany (or not). Probably one of the few things we haven't actually covered by event. :p

Thanks, I thought that might be the case! It was just something I seemed to remember being covered by an event in vanilla, so I was waiting for that. I was also worried that if I declared manually I may not get related events (such as Churchill coming in), but looking at the data files, I see that they're triggered by being at war with Germany anyway.

One thing that still is a bit confusing is that I can't actually declare war though; Germany's belligerence (or my interventionism) isn't high enough. I had thought that a declaration against a GoI country gave you automatic casus belli, but I guess not...

A possibility to increase your interventionism is to GoI NatSpain (they´re already in-gane at the start) and Albania. Since both countries are DOWed, you will get a double shift towards interventionism.
