Here goes...
totalbasscase had given us all a huge help with his thread, and I have to give him the credit for getting me started. His answer helps to get ONE person behind the router connected. You can read his thread here:

(as clarification, the TRIGGER port is 47624 and the incomming ports are 23000-24000.)
I, however, continued to have problems, as I wanted my friend and I to be able to play simultaneously, even though we are both behind the same router. This proves difficult, as the game uses Directplay, and that doesn't work so well with NAT. You won't beleive it, but I found a solution!

The long and short of it is, if you follow his instructions, you can play. I have tested it, and it works!! I have not played a full game, I merely hosted one with one of our computers, and joined with the other. So far so good. You have to first configure your router using port forwarding or Virtual Servers (if you don't understand, PM me or post and I'll try to answer). From there, you download this software which essentially ties specific ports to each computer on the network. It's quite brilliant really.
Give it a shot, and let me know what you guys think!
