I'm trying to find a program that can do just that.

Okay, sorry for the delay, MrT is away for awhile.

MP is not my area of expertise, But since Johan could not supply a reason, I doubt I could.

The best bet is to ask in the MP forum, to see if one of the experts there has any suggestions.

Unfortunately, that's what I did first... see the first post in this thread (which was in the MP forum). Note that other people seem to be having similar issues, though they are not identical, so it shouldn't be too hard for Johan to track down the 'freeze' behaviour.

Anyway, I've basically given up on this now. However, since I'm planning on getting cable internet in the next couple of months, I'll definitely come and bother people here again if it _still_ doesn't work!

I know others had problems with 1.07, but then that was resolved in one of the beta patches.

Hmm... the people who posted in the thread said nothing about it being introduced with 1.07.

If everyone is having the problem with the current Beta, then you should post it as a bug in the bug forum.
Johan does not read the support forum. ;)

For anyone who stumbles across this thread who's had similar problems, I finally fixed it up (quite simply).

I didn't have a network client installed (only the Dial-up Adaptor and TCP/IP Protocol) in Windows networking. Plonked a client in (Microsoft Networks), and everything worked just fine. Hmph.

Good to know. Will add it to our KB.
