Unable to right click on Mac

I usually play Stellaris on my XBox, but installed it yesterday on my Mac.

It's a pretty new MacBook Pro M2 Max with 64GB RAM running MacOS Sonoma 14.0, so not a resource issue.

But I am unable to right click on my trackpad. For instance, if I try to right click on a planet or an asteroid, it keeps opening the summary window instead of giving me the option to build a mine.

I tried changing my trackpad settings -- both the two-finger tap and the click, but no luck. There also doesn't seem to be any way to configure controls in game settings, either.

Appreciate any help!

It doesn't work with my Mac's Magic Mouse either when I use the right click (or any other gestures).

Delete the game's Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt files. The launcher and game will recreate them at default settings.

I just asked Steam for a refund. Tried a bunch of potential solutions with no luck and looks like Paradox's tech support simply doesn't exist.

Oh well.

Sorry I didn't get back to you within half an hour of your response. I only have time to check here once a day or so.

It wasn't a knock on you -- just Paradox not having customer support.

I emailed them two days ago, was redirected here, and I followed up only to be sent an automated email that they don't do customer support. Expecting customers to look for help from random strangers on internet forums isn't my idea of support.

It's absurd that there is such an egregious bug and looks like this is a common issue. And all the solutions entailed some version of trying a bunch of things and then things magically working (all of which I tried with no luck).

At some point, supportability is an issue right? You buy something hoping it'll work -- but if you are spending hours and hours trying to get it to work, you simply move on.

I appreciate your help -- not your fault Paradox refuses to provide support. Someone should let Steam know they may as well remove the email for support.

I'm puzzled by that statement as we have a dedicated tech support group, of whom I am one.

I don't see any ZenDesk tickets from the email associated with this forum name either. So I'm really not sure by what means you contacted us! Nor from where those emails came that you mention.

On my mac, sometimes focus isn't set correctly at game start. The cursor is wrong (default black instead of big yellow) and right-clicking doesn't work.

The work-around for me is to command-Tab to a different application, then command-Tab back to Stellaris, which sets the focus on transition.

I do that almost every game now, tab away during the game loading slides, then tab back later.
