I've installed the game, and I get the first splash screen with AOD on it and register, and game start buttonm. I've registered the game. I get an error when I try and play it. I've not had any difficulty playing quite a few other games, some of them far older than AoD

Unhandled Exception

Access to the path C:\program files\Paradox\Arsenal of democracy\settings.cfg is denied.

When I launch the game in administrator mode it asks to install TAGES drivers. This is most definitely not in the manual. Is there something not in the manual I'm supposed to install as well? This is my first online only purchase Paradox game.

Vista 32 bit business edition
256Mb video card,
3GB RAM etc

It is generally highly inadvisable to install games in "program files" under vista. AoD especially. Try to make a "Games" folder, install it there. Half of the cases it does the trick.

And if not, try run it as a administrator.

Ok, installed in a folder c:\Games. Now asking to install TAGES drivers with administrator privileges - which I've accepted, and bingo, the game is up and running. So thanks for the help.

AoD is the first of many games I've installed that hasn't happily gone in the default location...
