So, I just got a new laptop. I play Stellaris on both my desktop and my laptop.
When I save a game on my desktop my Ironman game saves to the cloud. I can see the file has saved on the "View Steam Cloud" page on Steam.
When I go to play on my laptop I can see the saved game from the desktop and open it and play it. But when I then exit the game on my laptop it saves it, in the load game page it shows the game as having the "green cloud" but then when I close the game down it fails to sync. Sometimes it starts to sync showing 5% then 10% then 100% but this process can last several minutes to end with the "Unable to sync" showing in the Library page of Steam under Stellaris. The game is not uploading to the cloud which I verified both by looking at the "View Steam Cloud" page and via opening the game on my desktop and trying to play the game.
I don't know why this is happening nor why the cloud seems to be a one way passage where I can access saved games synced by the desktop but I can't sync saved games to the cloud from the laptop.
I even tried disabling my Window's Defender firewall but that didn't seem to change anything. I've also tried using two different internet providers but again nothing changed.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: I can see the laptop from the desktop and vice versa for the family sharing on steam. So I know there is connectivity with steam going on.
