Unable to use Below and and Beyond DLC.

I have thus far been unable to play the Below and Beyond part of the game. I purchased and downloaded the DLC through Steam. I get the option to play as well as the spiffy subterranean views while loading...BUT... when I "arrive on Mars" there is no Recon or Expansion research tree. I've tried everything my computer illiterate brain I can think of...even uninstalled and reinstalled the game...twice. and nothing Please advise.

Did you buy the DLC, or just download the free version? You must buy, to get access to the new content.

Edit: I see you say that you purchased it, but did it install? Most of the users having this issue, did not buy, or install it.

It was installed...then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it...three times now! As I explained, everything "seems" okay until I actually try to play the game.

I am in the same boat, though I purchased the DLC on the MS Store. When it is installed it is as if I have no DLC at all.

I've just taken a look at Windows Store and I had to download the 1.0.5.0 update for the DLC, can you check via Windows Store > Get Updates to see if you have updated or it was not installed?

Also, if you locate \AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs folder and view the Mars-WindowsStore.exe logs, look in the log for the Available DLC reference which might look like this
"Available DLCs: picard(Below and Beyond),armstrong(Green Planet)"

I got it figured out. I had to completely delete the game from my system including all system folders. Once that was done I installed the base game, installed Below and Beyond and was able to access the DLC. Installed the Other DLC's and we are good to go.

I'm afraid you are under a misapprehension, the Season Pass does not cover all new expansions and DLCs for the rest of time! Only ones that existed at the time it was compiled in 2019:

Space Race
Green Planet
Project Laika
Colony Design Set
Marsvision Song Contest

The new expansion just released this year is a separate item.
