unhandled exception error: please help

I just installed Rome Gold and installed recent update on Windows 7 Ultimate. Now, I click to play. Upon clicking the error comes:

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. ...The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.ext tool for more detail."

Is this familiar to anyone else? If so, how do I go by resolving this issue?
