Chapter 1: Securing the Homeland
Part 1: Conquest of Tripura
Sultan Ilyas Shah Ilyas looks over his kingdom, looking at the infrastructure, Neighbors, and the possibility of expanse. He hires three new advisers to manage his nation and free up some of his work. Mahmud Gosh, a well decorated Military reformer, Shuja' ad-Din Muhammad Suri, A great economical manager of the Bengalian trade guild, and Islam Shah Suri Banerjee, a locally graduated Government adviser that had success in school. Ilyas had called for his Sikander Ilyas, and his military reformer, Mahmud Gosh.
"Yes father, you called for me?"
"Sit, I want to teach you something before you take over this great kingdom."
"Of course father, I am ready for you to teach me anything."
"Let us await Mahmud, he has recently arrived at court. He shall be your personal teacher in military tactics, and he shall be a new adviser. Hopefully he shall live to see you on the throne, my son."
"Father, Maleed has already taught me so much, and you yourself have taught me how to fight an enemy."
"I know little, son. Maleed has no experience on the battlefield. Mahmud has been an adviser to generals and he has had experience commanding regiments."
"Then I am happy to learn from him father."
"While we await him to arrive, grab that Chaturanga board, you shall be playing it."
"Of course father, will there be any special rules?"
"That is for him to decide"
"Sultan, Sikander, good to meet you." -He bows-
"Stand Mahmud, I want you to teach my son how to play Chaturanga without any Gaja, but first let us discuss some matters of state."
"Of course, Sultan, and I have news from the court, they wish for you to conquer Tripura, as it shall prove to our people we are destined to rule."
"Ahh yes, Tripura. I have been meaning to take that land, now we have support of the court. Of course I must lead the soldiers, we cannot afford a general at the moment. Bring me a world map Mahmud, I want to see our current situation."
"Of course, Sultan."
"Great Hindustan, divided into many states. It makes it easier to conquer, does it not Mahmud?"
"Yes, it does. So you are looking for becoming ruler of the Indus people?"
"No, But I do want to see Delhi or Deccan come to rule them, I have different ambitions Mahmud, You see the divided lands to the south east? They are fresh, ready for conquest, divided, and lack infrastructure that we in Bengal have. It will be perfect to create something out of it. Once those lands are apart of Bengal, probably after my death, then I hope for my predecessors to move onto the Islands south of them, where trade is expensive and luxuries."
"And what of the Indus lands, what are your plans for these great lands, how will you see that Delhi rises to power?"
"We shall aid them in their campaigns, we shall help them fight off the Rahjputs and the Sihks, and they shall never turn on us for helping them so. Also by that time we shall be as powerful as them with what empire we have built in the Indochinese lands. Now then, go train my son to continue my campaigns, make sure he knows in which direction to conquer, I must go lead or men towards Tripura."
"of course, my Sultan. I shall begin training your son, Also I suggest you begin working on relations with Delhi, maybe even Deccan."
"Send word to the foreign affairs minister, I want an alliance request sent to Delhi and I want to marry my cousin with someone of the Deccan ruling family."
"I am on it, great Sultan."
Sultan Ilyas Shah Ilyas prepares his army of 13,000 to march against the 1,000 large army of Tripura.
The Tripurain army of 1,000 charged the province of Silhet, pillaging and laying siege to the city. After a few months the 13,000 strong army of Sultan Ilyas arrived, grinding the Tripurain army into dust, opening a straight path into Tripura.
The province of Tripura had no walls and instantly fell to the army of Sultan Ilyas. Ilyas demanded the full annexation of the province, and then set his mind toward returning home and dealing with internal problems.
