Uninstall/Reinstall

Trying to get a clean install of DD for a mod. I uninstalled it, and tried to reinstall it, but it wouldn't let me. So I manually uninstalled everything as per the thread, and the install button is now selectable. Upon pressing it, however, I get the same Repair/Modify screen as with an Uninstall.

I did a search on my computer for DD and it found nothing, and I cannot possibly understand what else I need to remove.

Nope. XP Media Center.

As far as I can tell, the only thing it's "installing" is the regedit files.

Several times. I never did find that Install Information folder though. I searched for Doomsday there several times, but nothing. =/

Install shield folder?

You must enable show hidden files to see that folder.

Q: How do I set the computer to show Hidden files ?

A:
Click "My Computer"
Click on the "Tools" pulldown menu
Select "Folder options"
Select the "View" tab
Look under Advanced settings
Look for the section on "Hidden Files and Folders"
Notice that this section is comprised of two radio buttons. Make sure the "Show hidden Files and Folders" is selected.

I did. I did another search for it to search all parts of a file. It found two, so I deleted them, but I still get Repair/Uninstall when I select install on the disk autoplay.

Delete the folder that have Doomsday information.

Yes. I deleted FILES. It still doesn't work though! And when I try to "remove" it says it lacks a necessary file to uninstall, one of the files I just deleted!

Let's start from the beginning

1. Search the registry, remove everything with DD and HOI2

2. Delete DD folder in the programfiles.

3. Delete DD instalshield folder.

All of that is done and has been for a while.

The problem is that you must have some files on the PC that is related to DD. That's the reason you can't install DD.

You can try Ccleaner
