Is this Downloaded version and for which game HOI2 or Doomsday?
 
Have you tried both the uninstall programs wizard, and a manual uninstall following the advice in the sticky thread on the subject.
 
Sounds like you must have had modded files installed.
 
Well it was files in GFX so that could be Stony road files.
