THE END was splendind. First I was able to fight Portugal at least a little (ended in WP), than major offensive in Italy and south France gave me 2 COTs in peace (Napoleon was fighting north) and in the end the huge, epic war with Russia started. I was thinking I will not be able to move troops back from the west, but I managed and dozens of 100kvs100k battles near Crimea started. Turks and Russians were pushing each other back and forth for years, but Kanth had time advantage (I was still at war with Portugal while Russia invaded), so I decide he can have his tiny, silly one prov as a cake (you know, when kid is crying too loud you just give him something sweet to have peace :D ).

I thank you all from all my heart for all of this tuesdays evenings and invite to continue our entertainement on may in Thirst for Glory III!

War oe vs rus was really nice, i admit that ;)
 
and lastly, i want to say that it was pretty nice game, i had my ups and downs, but in the end i dowed one after another, all my nigbours and won all wars. It really doesn't matter that only oe did some decent fighting, I won!!! ;)

It was funny actually, first i dowed PRU and HAB, drake ceded 3 provinces without a fight for exchange that i will dow Sweden, in the meantime i blackmailed hab, since they were in war with fra and demanded 3 polish provinces, which i got. Then I dowed SWE, they gave up 3 baltic provinces without a fight, in exchange that I will redow PRU, then in the meantime of truce with PRU i regained -2 stab from -3 and I dowed OE. This one was real war(although it was close that I would gain without fight 4 provinces in echange that I will dow FRA trough HAB territory, that was during war OE FRA, but they peaced and we decided that we will fight for real) big epic war with a lot of great tactics, big armies and uber generals. After that I wanted to dow PRU, but Drake dropped and Prussia was ghosted (and I had -3 stab).

Real fun game for me too even though I was pummeled in Europe several times. Was one ugly gang against me in the start of the game with several following deals that made life generally miserable for me and quite frankly made me angry. A combine PRU/HAB gang against me right after a war with FRA and a very real threat from SWE to join in too which was only evaded by some last minute diplomacy. Then I made a deal with FRA to be his vassal if he helped in the wars, only that he forgot to mention he had a NAP with HAB and later wouldn't help me in a war that I got dragged into. :(

Then pretty much gutted like a fish I tried a bold attempt at taking down POR but that backfired and my minting was just one gigant throw into the waters. At that time I was pretty much resigned and thought I was about to be exterminated. But I got some maps and had fun in Africa for a while until taking alot of sugar in America and got conversions going. Trade was booming and the awesome events for Netherlands kicked in and gave me a lot of manus right after I built a couple of my own. I had most manus in the world for a while! Around 18 or so~.

But alas, that ghosting then killed off my trade and I was playing catchup for quite some time while people took turns taking things from me. Eugh...

I am just glad I survived to the end and was able to get a nice colonial army and navy up and going. I knew I wasn't able to beat Prussia or France at home but I always made way in the colonies. Too bad my low MP and low support limits held me back. 400 ships doesn't get you very far nor does 121 max MP. Not against an english fleet, a french army and prussian guns. But I had fun and got to take part in a lot of fun wars even though I was mostly a minor in those. Interesting to see Spain go before me though. Good Game all in all.
 
A fun game, although it peaked far before the end for me. Everything started good, I got my nation up, I explored and traded and whatnot that Portugal does. My maps were stolen, but after that I was untouchable. My aim was to be the number one naval nation in the world, backed by a strong economy, including as many CoTs as possible. When the peak came, the war versus Spain and France, it was glorious. My nation proved its strength and my aim to dominate the seas had been achieved, as the French-Ottoman-Spanish navies experienced. Earlier I had also beaten the English twice.

But when it was time for peace, and Spain refused to peace for the 1 province I demanded, and I had to take 5 others to justify my victory, the downfall started. Eventually I had to annex all of Spain to justify the five provinces I had, and to get maximum manpower out of them. It took me half into the 18th Century before I could like my nation again. Then I had a couple of wars with the Ottomans, destroying their navy twice and my own once. At least the Mediterranean was mine. I fought Sweden and only England's navy was a challenger in size and grandeaur.

The sillyness of historical leaders determined that outcome, and in the last session England's astonishing combination of Wellington and Nelson pretty much got the best out of leaderless Portugal.The navy was saved thanks to allies France and Sweden, but I could not use it. Only once getting intercepted by Nelson would have meant the end, so I hid it.

All in all, a very good game, with only one major setback. I largely acheived my goals, and I am still very proud of the highlight of my nation.
 
Mats, I still am upset about you making Spains government fall though :p Nuked my BB for the rest of the game.
 
One of the most interesting games I've played so far. Got KJ as the biggest threat next door like a few times before and that spiced a lot of things up. First century spent with AI bashing and I achieved both of my goals back then, namely to keep the Dutch back where they should be, and to rush for Elsace so I can trade provinces for time later. The following years however saw many downfalls, and despite taking Paris itself twice and sacking it quite a few times I kept losing against France. Perhaps with an able Spain it could have been better, but Martin himself acknowledged that he failed with Spain this time, so it was never an option.

The deepest point was when I lost Poland to France and then BBurg was able to grab two German provinces together with precious Sudety. Hell, Sudety must have changed ownership like four times before I finally reclaimed it for good, and with that sealing the German partnership. Those were fun and fair 1vs1 fights with Drake.

Played the turncoat quite a bit in the game, was responsible for Poland's, Venice's and a bit to Spain's downfall and even helped France two times against the OE. One of the most glorious wars was the "Great Northern War" in the early 18th century. Generally its not my style to lie flat out to other players, but the tactic and Prussia's sake demanded it. The other one and was the Balkan showdown in the 1770s when armed with my über leader (6/7/6) I was able to single handedly crush the OE and in that one I warned Portugal that he should blew the Turkish fleet up. Good times.

The finale was a bit harsh on Austria, I lost the two Napoleonic rounds but I had great fun fighting against KJ's übers once again.

to bad about my inflation ruining my wareffort in the end tho
i had loads of mp the entire war but no gold to build any
 
bancrupty early game got me 22-25inflation
tons of wars after

and the last 2sessions i minted all the time from 40ish to 70ish
