unknown entity encounter bug

Problem: So playing stellaris multiplayer and it's going good when I get a pop up on screen about a new encounter with an alien species, problem is is the option to progress is greyed out so no matter how much I click to continue the option won't light up, I can't close the option either so I end up stuck on it having to quit out of the game.
Happend randomly when encountering new contacts.

I am recieving this same problem. I am on PS4 with all the dlc and the most current version of the game.

I've been having the exact same problem on my ps4 with my buddies 3 player. Its constantly happening when we play, its very irritating.

Edit: Just got this screenshot from my 3 player server with my buddies, I legitimately can not play with my friends and it's annoying I just wanna have fun.

I’ve had the exact same issue, it only happens to the non-host players in my games.

Yup. Exact same bug on PS4 and only in multilayer. 2 days in a row on the same game. Saving and reloading fixes it for a minute, but not a permenant fix.

it happens a lot to me as well as either host or joiner or in single player but a refresh sometimes allows me to continue for about 1 hour - 2 hours before another one pops up and i believe it is due to the unknown aliens not being a AI empire but one of the random hostiles/neutrals around the galaxy or even primitive empires

We started a new game a few days ago, and so far this bug has occurred once but we're only 80 years into the game.
I'm hoping for a fix soon, as this bug is making multiplayer almost impossible to play.
Coincidentally, I've already played a single player game through to the end and never had an issue.

this is a known problem and is being looked at

Tantalus split the bug fixes up into 2 parts, the first part console already got, which was a fix to the pop growth issue [as that was a very big and gamebreaking problem]

the next fix will come when they've figured out the cause of the bug and how to fix it [along with other various small issues that have cropped up with the new update]

Also happening to my group. This desperately needs to being addressed, it's making the game absolutely miserable to play together.

I get this on xbox aswell the hole time and I try restarting it and it doesn't go away and the I've to sart a new game it's supper annoying
