Unknown String Wanted + Cant Patch

Hi,

I am running Vista 64bit.

Just bought the game and after installation all text entries on the game menus read "Unknow String Wanted"

I read on the forum that patching to 1.05 fixes this. I got the patch but it says the game is not installed on the computer. I have reinstalled 3 times using default folder. I also noticed that the installation calls the folder "Victoria" and the desktop icon is also called "Victoria".

So cant play and cant patch. Help appreciated.

PS: Just noticed there is a patch on the CD. For Europa Unversalis 2 ... This is one messed up CD!

The patch will not fix tis problem; this info is wrong. Do this:

1. Uninstall the current installation.
2. Go to the Control Panel and set the language used by Windows to English.
3. Install the game.
4. Change the language settings back.

The game wil then run properly, and patching will be merely a matter of unzipping the file.
