At last the answer to my problem:

1. Please uninstall your previous version of Crusader Kings if it is
already installed

2. Open the start menu of windows and click open the control panel

3. Click open â?~Regional Settingsâ?T and select English (United States)
from the Regional Options tab.

4. Select â?~Applyâ?T and close the window by pressing OK

5. Reinstall Crusader Kings

6. Once the installation is done, follow the above method to switch
the regional options back to Portuguese

Thx Typhoon & Castellon.

Now I can kick some medieval ass!

Great, happy conquest. :)

It worked with me

I was completely lost about the same problem and had thought about the language click... the thing that was bugging me was in reality the "why the Victoria directory?" that was making me thing it was a pirate copy...

Thanks... e no caso de seres Português besides holding in honour the Portuguese colours ;) "Força Portugal"

The vast majority of the people who encounter this problems do have a Pirate copy.

Well, this seemes like a portuguese curse, because I've just bought my copy of Crusader Kings and I have all the problems described by my fellow countryman.

I bought my copy from Amazon.co.uk and it's as oficial as it gets. It has the Koch Media label on the box and CD, manual, the lot. I'll try the solution he has come up with (god bless prortuguese inventiveness! :D ), but I wanted to make it know that thi sis not happening with just pirated copies.

Cheers!

I never claimed it only happens with Pirate copies. ;)
Just that the vast majority of the cases were because of a Pirate copy. ;)

Seams to be a Portugal thing. Maybe a language problem.

Must be in the way it reads ascii.

Always glad to help.

(The Grand Portuguese Empire (1415-1999)

1415 - The conquest of Ceuta
1999 - Handing over of Macau to the PRC

584 years of portuguese grandeur!
Long live the Holy Rectangle!) :D

I would make sure you buy the copy from a legit dealer, most people who have had this problem have obtained a Pirated copy. ;)

I have dealt with "pirated" copies none of wich I have ever experianced a problem nor would it because pirated copies are just that copies and go through a very strict selection prossess none of wich would survive if they where infact "broken" as no one would seed them anymore.
The problem is with all the contents of the Config file, one error in any of those files can result in many UNKNOWN STRING WANTED errors wich is really bad for moders besause they will no doubt have to encounter this one because of Paradoxes lapse in game design
