So my character is 40 currently and I am trying to marry a new wife. However it would seem everyone considers me "unlikely" to have children. Thats seems pretty bullshit. Is it because I did not have children with my wife previously or is it just because I'm middle aged. I also did have a kid but he died of disease so I am guessing its age? I have a couple mods but it shouldn't affect this

I'm having this happen when I am "away from court" sometimes. The thing is though, AI shouldnt know about hidden traits
Yes, but it does. And there's no way we can influence this, since the marriage interaction is hardcoded. And the hardcoded setup decides that the AI will know about absolute fertility all the time, regardless of whether that is very illogical.

ive wanted to suggest a smaller fertility hit to "away from court/leading troops" modifier for a while now, since baggage trains were already a thing in medieval times

I love the mechanic. But it interferes w/ marriages. Had a vassal not get married for years and years. And it was because he was away from court and no one would accept his proposals.

Would love if while you had the away from court going you had a chance to father bastards. similar to the Hunting event. But the woman would be from where ever you were away at.

I kind of remember one or two different events where you get a camp follower either pregnant or giving you an STD.
But it might have being in Crusader Kings I: Deus Vult (yep, I'm THAT old). I certainly remember an event in CK: DV involving a notorious and beautiful courtesan in crimson clothes offering you her... company during the expanse of the war, and to this day I don't have even the faintest idea where it came from, but was a very interesting event.
