Has anyone created a mod that allows the timeline to go into the period of the Principate (Augustus and later) for Vae Victis? Has this change been made a part of any of the major mods (Epigoni, Imperium, etc.)?

This cannot be done without editing the .exe file itself (which would be illegal to distribute) or changing the dating system.
So its not so easy as changing as in EU3?
As a side note, the legality of that depends on what nation you live in.

To be fair the earlier poster did sort of say what needed to be done to fix it. I'm still having fun with the Vanilla timeline, but at a quick glance I saw what appears to be a lot of SQL stuff inside the secret hidey hole. If I ever feel the need to push beyond the end date, I'll remember to shoot you a line on how its done.(someone let me know if spreading this is against forum policy, while I give a piss about legality in the USA or Sweden as I live in neither, I don't want to step on Paradox' toes either)
