Unrealistic Unit Names

Simply put, it is unrealistic for the first ship of its class to appear in every mission.:glare: It also kinda makes you angry because you might have destroyed that ship in the previous mission. For example, the Pyotr appears throughout the entire campaign. Maybe you could switch it out for, say, the Lazarev occasionally? Maybe throw in the USS California somewhere?

Hehehe yeah that breaks immersion but it's forgivable to me. I judge a game by how much it is able to entertain me no longer a hardcore realism junkie I was...2 months ago :laugh:

I know, I know. The plan was to go through each campaign and find unique names for all ships that may have been killed. It's a big job, and it kept sliding down the priority list...

Can you at least add the prefixes (USS etc.) and pendant/hull numbers to all the ships? It's really inconsistent atm.

Infact, if we were to do it and post the file here, would you bundle it with the next patch?

Speaking of unit names, is the PAK FA ever going to get a proper designation? I watched some videos online where it's still called the PAK FA or T-50 despite these being the designations for the prototypes. I imagine that if this aircraft gets to frontline operational service, it would receive a designation like, say Su-51 or Su-55? We'd basically be making up names for it at this point, but it seems better than leaving it as "PAK FA". Besides, you've already made up names for the Mistral-class ships that Russia is buying from France, so why not? =P

When we know what the official name is, obviously.

We call them Sukhoi T-50A and T-50K, which is a fair guess and is used extensively in writing about this airplane from a variety of sources. We added "PAK FA" to the long name to inform the player who has heard about the demo plane that this is indeed it.

Besides, you've already made up names for the Mistral-class ships that Russia is buying from France, so why not? =P

We didn't make them up up. These are in fact official.

Yes cruiser California a great idea. But, I would like to see him as far as possible from the Russian border
