Upcoming AAR: I require a vote!

I've got something in the works (it's gonna be a long while), but I need advice on a matter. I intend to log portraits for the whole of the dynasty as it closely follows the line of rulers. I have the following options in mind, please do vote your preference.

1. The ruler's portrait is from when he takes power or when he turns 21, whichever is the older portrait. All other portraits are from ~21 or when they enter the dynasty if they come in later than that.

2. Everyone's portrait is from when I they took their highest office. So if my son becomes an earl, I cap. If he later becomes a duke, I cap again, and the duke portrait is the one I use for his AAR record. Unlanded characters are from ~21 or when they enter the dynasty if they come in later than that.

3. Everyone's portrait is from ~21 or when they enter the dynasty if they come in later than that. This method best reflects the genes of the dynasty that get passed on, due to the genes not being modified by aging.

I'd assume this is related to a CK2/3 game, given the titles. I doubt it would necessarily mean much, aside from having a record.

To OP: I'd honestly think that you're good regardless! So long as that you can get through things yourself.

Yes indeed, CK3. My unique format will make the portraits mean a little something, I won't spoil just yet.

Don't bother to show us their portraits until they become important to the story. Otherwise you may find yourself overwhelmed with how many portraits you have to capture and post.

Definitely learned that lesson from my last run! The plan is...

- The immediate family of each king. (The king, his wives, and his issue.)
- The spouses and offspring of the king's siblings.
- Anyone who became extremely relevant to the plot, such that I feel they really just need to be seen.

For the most part, it'll just be about keeping track of the dynasty members in most immediate proximity to the ruling line.

If the log is intended to be an "as history sees them", then a fourth option might be better:

Choice based on highest office, most memorable action that history will remember them for, late thirties/early fourties if no other guideline, and for spouses, approximately the same age unless one dies much earlier than the other

E.g. if somebody ends up a king, he'll be remembered as a king, so nobody would use the portrait from his pre-king days unless he happened to do something momentous then and everything since then was downhill. On the other hand, once king, what time in his life was the most important - as seen by posterity? And if nothing clearly stands out, then people who've survived to their late thirties are generally fully formed and might be in the business of commissioning solo or family portraits.
