I have downloaded the 1.1 Update and the 1.09 Update. When attempting the update process on either, I keep getting the message "that Europa Universalis is not installed on my computer". I have it installed in the default directory. I have tried to update from another file folder AND from within the EU folder itself. The program itself is installed and working fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do? Thanks.

what version of the game you have? is it the north american version?
the reason you get that message is you were attempting to install a patch that does not match with the game. either a non NA patch on a NA game or vice versa. check on the game box. who is the publisher of the game

I have the game that Paradox Entertainment is involved in. Its version is North American and I believe version #107b. Apparently what you are saying is that there may be a compatibility issue even though the game is in fact The North American Europa game as is the patch. Is that correct? If so that is hard to understand. I thank you for responding to my problem.

Does it say "Strategy First" on the box?
and from where did you purchase it?

If it doesnt say Strategy First then does it say Koch or Blackstar?

North America version should be 1.07c, not be IIRC.
It is possible you have either a UK version (I was sold the UK version) or a Benelux version wich are both in english. Try downloading one of these patches (UK 1.1 or BEN 1.1) to see if they work. If they don't, post again, and I'm sure Uglyduck will find a solution that we can't post here :)

Hee hee - depends on whether my "policemans nose" twitches when I get the answers to my questions. :)
 
First of all, I sincerely appreciate the many responses and help. The box is marked Paradox AND Blackstar. The C.D. itself is marked "English Version" which I thought meant North American. I am going to download "the U.K." version and give it a try. Shakespear appartently was wrong when he asked, "what is in a name". Thanks again for all your help!

Blackstar is the publisher for the Benelux (Belgium-Netherlands-Luxemburg) version of the game. You need patch 1.10 BEN.

I think you should edit your "running problems" post and add at the bottom the list of publishers and their respective version (i.e. SF = US, Koch=UK, Blackstar=BEN). A lot of people are puzzled by this. I was lucky, since I've read a post about it when I first came on the forum, 'cause otherwise, I would have asked the same question :)
