Updates and Patches - PC

I must be missing something. I may not be getting updates at all. I'm showing that I have installed version 227.831. Reading in posts here looks like I'm at least 3 versions behind.

Is there something I should be doing to get updates?

227,831 is the release version. There have been numerous updates since then.

If you are on Steam, the updates should download automatically when online.
I'm not sure how it works for GOG.

I'm on Steam but no updates at all.

Try to verify the files of the game from the steam client, this triggers an update. Also check if you are playing in offline mode.

Hi - since the Curiosity update, my current game is crashing shortly after launch, even after applying the hotfix. I am trying to play a current game as I have quite a bit of time invested into the colony. Does Curiosity break save games?

It should't break saves, we try to maintain saved games compatibility. Please make a new bug report or if you think that it's the same one - use one of the several current reports that say their game crashes. Attach the files from your logs and crashes directories. They are found on Windows at:

%appdata%\Surviving Mars\logs - just paste that path in the address bar of an explorer window
%appdata%\Surviving Mars\crashes

Thanks for the quick reply! I will make a bug report -- the game freezes up after playing for about 5 minutes. The trigger for the crash seems to happen when I try to launch a rocket back to Earth.
