Well, it is October of 1940.

I have roughly 120 divisions across the front, including 22 divisions of T-34/75s. I have more divisions forming a line behind the Dnieper.

I have chosen the 'School of Defense' as my discipline. My ground organization is currently at 72.

I have four 3-squadron fighter groups (I-16s). I have two 8-squadron tactical bomber groups (SB-bis3). Organization level is a bit low (50) but we are running out of time. Maybe we can bloody the Axis nose a bit when they come out of the gate.

I bolstered my production in the beginning by taking every province with 1 IC and expanding it to 2. It gave me an extra 40.

I invaded Persia and made them my puppet. It helped expand my IC a bit and I am getting more oil. It also gave some of my generals a little extra experience. Basically: it gave me something to do from '36 to '37.

I snubbed the Mannheim/Ribbentrop Treaty. I just don't see the point of it.

I left Finland alone as well. No point to that either.

I managed to coup Romania, but it didn't seem to matter. They are over there on the other side of the river, quoting Marx and getting ready to attack me with their sworn facist enemies. It is weird though. Germany seized some of their territory along the river and now it is listed as Germany.

Now, all I do is make more and more infantry and watch the Germans across the border zoom back and forth, trying to make up their mind where they want to hit me first. It's maddening. I like to think I'm more prepared this time. I'm sure I've forgotten something and the whole house will burn down in a matter of a week.

July 6th, 1941

My lines have been bolstered even more. My airforce is having to retreat from time to time, but for the most part, their air attacks are being chewed up streadily. My AA units I built have really paid off.

General List hit us where we were weakest: in the swampy Mozya area West of the Dnieper--I hade roughly 12 diviosns there, which is half of what I have at all the rest of the front lines. I just didn't think they would try to drive through that hell hole. Nevertheless, even with the steady air attacks from my 16 squadrons of tactical bombers and even numbers waiting to receive Gen. List on the ground, he still managed to cause us to retreat--I still do not understand how. The Germans must have some sort of psychological advantage figured into the game for 1941.

List went no furthere, and several divisions split off and headed West, leaving him there.

Since then, we have bolstered our defenses everywhere. Many German divisions left my front to my suprise, until the my subs encountered a massive British amphibious landing in Denmark! It looked pretty suicidal. The Brits held out for a while. Once that battle ended, the German divisions turned back towards me and began what seemed to be a game of chicken. They begin to advance on my massive buildup at Zjitomir, and then they stop and head in another direction. It looks like the damn Indie 500 on their side of the front lines. It is quite bizarre.

List is still sitting in the swamp with 2 divisions of beat-up troops. We bomb them for mere target practice at this point.

I have had unexpected precious rains through June.

BTW, is this boring people? I decided to refrain from the dramatization. I don't have the energy on this one.

I currently have 20 divisions attacking (it commenses in 6 days) into the swamps at Mozyr from Zjitomir to try and drive the bastards out.

I recently drove them out of Wilno and Grodno in the Northwest. So far they have not done anything to counter my moves up there. I plan to attack across-river in the south as soon as I learn river-crossing tactics. I am still feeling pretty cautious.

Meanwhile, the Brits have taken Sicily and have landed in Bulgaria as well(?). Perhaps that is why the Germans seem so indecisive. Not that I'm complaining.

UPDATE: The attack failed. We had roughly 2-1 odds, but it started raining, then several more German divisions showed up that apparently were already on there way there. We lost close to 10 divisions and retreated. Ooops.

It is November '41 now. I haved decided to focus on the south and let them have that damn swamp.

Well, it is close to December, 1944. The German army has collapsed, once the Americans, British and French started making progress opening second fronts. across France and Italy.

It seemed like up to that point, I was just fighting to keep the lines stable. We had to fall back a few times. I began a strategy of attacking into one province with full force and air support (I had 30 air divisions of tactical bombers in support)--then, once we took the province, we would retreat to our original lines. Then we would launch the attack somewhere else and do the same thing.

Basically it gave me something to do. I knew that I couln't win an all out offensive against the Germans (I had already tried this and I nearly lost half of my uits from being over-extended), so I wore them out instead, and played for time, hoping the Americans would land soon.

Once the Americans landed near Antwerp, the Germans started falling apart everywhere along the front. I noticed that their organization level was at practically zero when the battles would start. I guess this was due to a lack of supplies(?). I am pounding the hell out of Romania and Hungary. The Germans have completely evacuated. It is pretty much a mop-up job now.
 
One thing i noticed is that you said you had about 120 divisions. I generally try to have at least 200. Its hard on the economy but it also means victory is pretty much assured. Still I don't often play the USSR. But good to hear you outlasted the germans
