I know this probably isn't the right forum for this but I honestly don't give a space dragon at this point. I haven't been able to log on to my account for days. Keep in mind that this is an account I've had for going on 15 years. I've tried numerous times to log in but every time I try to log in it sends me to a screen that asks me to create a new account. I put in my screen name and boom... wait for it... it says that screen name already exits! Well, duh. So, not being able to log into the forums or customer support I send an email to Paradox asking for help and guess what!? I receive a response saying Paradox Interactive doesn't respond to help tickets via email. Holy stupid fail Batman. So, the only option I had left was to create a new account name so that I could access the forums. Thanks Paradox, for your epic fail.

Yes, we only accept tickets from logged in Paradox accounts. This is to ensure we are only helping genuine Paradox customers. That does mean you need to temporarily make a new Paradox account when you have a problem with your existing one, as you have done. This is not an "epic fail" or even a "paradox fail" but a deliberate design.

Lodge a ticket with details of your old account and we'll recover your access to it.

So I sent a ticket in several days ago and have yet to hear back from support. Is this by design too?
Your ticket was replied to within 15 minutes of you lodging it. Maybe check your email spam quarantine, see if it got picked up in there?
