I have been playing for a while and usually make good use of my army and navy commanders. Naturally I prefer commanders with high values, and usually I use my commanders with siege values for sieges.

BUT is their some way of weighting the first three values; manoeuvre, firepower and shock? Is there a overall rating system i.e. Overall rating = maneuvre*2 + firepower*5 + shock*5

This question because sometimes you can have several commanders with equal accumulated stats i.e. 4-3-2, 3-3-3, 2-3-4 and so on.

Of course I know that when using armies dominated by cavalry the shock factor is important, and that infantry and artillery needs leaders with high firepower attributes. But still, is there a general rating system that can meas-ure the total value of a commander?

There isn't any general rating system, because the relative importance of shock and firepower changes not only with the type of army units being commanded, but also with technological developments. And high siege is obviously invaluable when sieging, but useless otherwise.

Well what do you focus on then?
I mean when you have a standard field army (inf, cav and maybe some art), if you have several leaders to choose from which one do you then take?
Is maneuvre worth anything? How many enemies gets killed as a result of high firevalue and how many as a result of a high shock value.

I mean first of I was satisfied with having a leader commanding my armies instead of those useless random 1-1-1, 2-0-2, or whatever commanders. But when I have several leaders I an unsure of which performes the best.

Surely there must be some of you hardcore warmongers that have testes the different importance of the leaders abillities.;)
