Thanks for the answer and hope you can find out.
I will check moore into how the tech interacts. The game adds a new dimension into HOI2-DD. It is harder which isn't a bad thing.
I will be really much harder if infantry requires fuel. Let's say i have 100 infantry divisions moving, that will require 60 fuel! And thats without any brigades!
If you haven't already pinpointed it, there's a tech in the infantry section, in the upper-right, that deals with the varying motorization of your infantry. Without any of the techs, your armies move by foot, probably supported by existing pre-planned supply depots or horse/mule carts. With each tech you add, more and more of your infantry transportation and supply network are motorized, allowing your infantry to move faster and stay in regular supply. This is realistic, since even without motorized troop transports or self-propelled armored vehicles, it would be nearly impossible for leg infantry to move far without running out of supplies, such as food and ammunition. And how would you get these needed supplies to them if not by trucks? And how would you power those trucks without oil?
Logistics is a hard business, and there's a price to be paid for fighting with a modern army. With the increased movement speed and the sophistication of supply networks, you need the resources to keep them running. You can avoid those techs if you want to (or need to), but you'd be placing yourself at a severe disadvantage, as your army would move like molasses. Just witness what happened to the very un-motorized Italian army in Cyrenaica when facing the much smaller, but more motorized and better supplied British 8th army. The Brits took them out piece by piece, partly due to their greater mobility. The Italians were hard-pressed to keep a fully motorized army going, and for the most part they never were able to manage it; it was one of their greatest deficiencies that their logistics and transportation abilities were never up to German, British, American, or even Soviet standards.
What's more important/crucial to you: speed or oil?
