Vassalization question here....

I am currently playing Austria in the GC. I have been for quite sometime now been trying to vassalize Hungary. I know a RM,MA ,and +190 is required to make an offer(or is it +180 , but either way).I have met these requirements , and was wondering if I am having bad luck? A crappy diplomat for a leader? Their leader is better than mine so that makes me fight an uphill battle?

I have been trying for almost the entire game.The current year is 1609.

Any suggestions/comments?

Are u bigger province/Army wise ? Try it when they're in a bad situation like low stability. After all they wouldn't be seeking protection and donate half their income if they were doing fine ...

I suppose size wise I am only slightly ahead. Miltary wise only about 80k ahead.

No problem, meeting the requirements of vassalisation is just step one. Then u actually have to make them understand giving up half their income to u is beneficial to them ...

Btw Austria vassalising Hungary should be doable eventually.
