Has this always been the case for you on this computer? Or it was okay up to some point?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

Previously, this problem did not affect the game so much and appeared after some time of the game if the discord was open. Now even without other applications open, this happens, it seems like it happened after recent updates

Does disabling the Discord overlay help?

That error log looks like a mess! Are there definitely no mods at all active when you get this problem?

What actual Intel CPU do you have? The model doesn't come up in those files. If it is a 12th gen or later, please check withy Gigabyte for an updated bios.

does discord have an overlay? At least I didn’t see a function to disable it
I don’t use mods at all and during the entire game I installed only one
Processor:

INTEL Core i9-9900K

Discord certainly has an overlay in Windows, I'd assume it does in Linux too.

That CPU is okay, I was wondering if you had one of the 12-14gen ones which have the famous hardware fault.

I don't really have a lot else to suggest; I guess we could do a clean reinstall - see if that cleans up that error log:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Vic3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Victoria3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3 folders - In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Victoria3 or Documents Victoria3 locations, before installing again.
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign, NOT any existing one

If you still get this problem, can I get new copies of all those files please.

While I'm trying to remove Victoria, I want to say that the same problem affects CK3
In the identical fashion, as you describe here?
Previously, this problem did not affect the game so much and appeared after some time of the game if the discord was open. Now even without other applications open, this happens, it seems like it happened after recent updates

If that is so, this can't be a game bug as such because they are made by different dev teams. They do use the same, or very similar, game engine versions though (Clausewitz and Jomini).

Whatever the root cause, unfortunately as you are on an unsupported Linux distro (MANJARO) this cannot be reported in the Bug Reports forum, which is the step I'd normally recommend at this point. Only Ubuntu is supported i'm afraid.

Sorry about that!

Okay then, let's start again! Can I get new copies of all those files we've looked at above, thanks.

And, does it still affect CK3 too?

Interesting how neither system.log not the Steam Info page know what CPU you have, still.

I thought I'd checked this before, but apparently not - your RX550 GPU is below the game's minimum requirement for Linux:

Are you on the latest driver?
I can never tell with AMD!

If. that doesn't help, I don't think there's anything we can do for you, I am sorry!

a very strange problem, since the game worked perfectly on vega 7. Some strange minimum requirements, I expected better work from a huge studio.

If you believe it is a game or engine bug, please make a new thread in the Bug Reports forum here, with all the details we've discussed.
