Hi, unfortunately my frame rate when using my dedicated GPU (Nvidia Geforce MX350) is only in the 10-15 FPS region while in the main menu and of course even lower in game. My GPU memory usage is also consistently at 100% for some reason. I'm currently using Ubuntu 23.10 and am on the newest proprietary driver for the GPU (535.129.03). The game is running comparatively fine when using the the integrated GPU with above 60 FPS while on the main menu. Any help or insights in what may cause this behavior would be appreciated.

Well, that is a weird situation! Hard to explain how the GPU gets so much worse performance than the integrated video system.

Do you get that with CK2 and I:R also?

The situation is actually the same with CK3 (which I assume you meant). I:R is running completely fine. Interestingly there were no performance differences between dGPU and iGPU when running CK3 with the OpenGL renderer only with Vulkan is the behavior the same as in Vic3.

Has this always been the case with both CK3 and this game on this rig? Or they were okay up to some point?

I:R, CK3 and Vic3 are all based on the same game engine, so a little odd that 2 are affected but one is not ... the older one in fact!

Is it any better on Speed 4 or lower, than on speed 5?

There is also a possibility that your GPU is a bit too old since it appears to only support Vulkan features up to 1.1 and our Jomini renderer is currently using Vulkan 1.3, so if making sure that the drivers are installed properly doesn't help, then sadly you might need a hardware upgrade to attain better performance on Vulkan :(

Game speed does not seem to affect it.
Hi! Could you try the steps described here to make sure that Vulkan drivers work properly on your system?
Unfortunately I had already done all these steps when I tried to fix this problem before.

That is strange because I am currently running Vulkan version 1.3.250 on this system and when testing it with vkcube it seems to run fine. It recognizes the nvidia GPU and everything. Besides apperently the GPU was released in 2020 so it shouldn't be too dated.

I see Vulkan 1.3 was released in January 2022, so it is not out of the realm of possibility that a card from 2020 can't use it!

It says explicitly here it only supports 1.1 in fact:

@PDX_Sosanna does that mean we need to update the minimum requirements for Linux video cards for this game, would you say?

But I am currently using Vulkan 1.3 and it seems to run just fine when testing it. I think the people at Nvidia just didn't update that table since release of the GPU. Other sites do say that this GPU is capable of 1.3 e.g. the vulkan gpu database.
