So, I am writing from Brazil. It is the second or third time I complain about this. Multiplayer is just not working, for me and my friends nearby. It is been 5 or 6 months now, and nothing changed. We create a game, everyone joins in, we play for 10 minutes or so, then everyone starts to disconnect from paradox account. No mods installed. We can reload the save as much as we want, the problem just repeats untill we give up playing. It is not anyone's internet connection, we play other games just fine.

I would like to know if you guys are aware of this. MP used to work PERFECTLY when nemesis launched, we used to play for hours, day after day. Then it just collapsed. Guys, please, This game is sooo expensive, it is getting so much support and updates. It is surreal and a shame that a fundamental feature like MP is just doomed for part of the community and nothing is done about it. We just wanna play together, like we do with any other game we want. Like we did with Stellaris once.

And please don't tell me to go and buy a VPN, that is not a viable solution right know. I don't see many echoing my complain, so I fear it is a very local problem, maybe? Anyway, it is for real, i am being very serious: no MP for us in the last half year. Can you believe that?

I'm not aware this is a general problem. Are you on the Steam edition of the game, or a different one?

If the Steam one are you using crossplay to play MP?

It is a GOG one. The problem persists with or without crossplay. I've tried it with players that have steam versions, and with others that have gog versions like mine. It is the same nightmare all the time. It is your server. It disconnects when the game is on course. We are playing, then bang, someone's connection drops from server. Be it two or three human players. I've tested it with different people, using different machines. It is just impossible to play. It was not like that. Started happening when you guys made some significant changes to multiplayer interface, in the middle of last year (that stuff about nakama infraestructure, maybe??) Before that, MP went just smoothly for us. I am puzzeled to learn it is not a general problem: I could name about five or six fellas that are deprived of stellaris MP for ages now. I beg you for some sort of solution, we really love the game and wanna play it again.

Edit: I had a MP session of Endless Space right now, with the same guys I was trying to play Stellaris with before. I am astonished how perfectly it went. This is more evidence that something is going on with Paradox account. That is so sad. Almost depressing: multiplayer seems dead for us, and nothing will be done about it. Hope to be wrong.

Yet I see nothing like this in the MP forum here, several ongoing games there in fact.

Is this just when you are involved , can the other players all play together without you okay?

Do you have any ability to test this from a different location/internet connection?

Well, I was doing some tests, but regret to inform, to no use.

I can't say if it happens only when I am involved or not, sorry. Buddies are too lazy to try and play without me to motivate them.
But the problem never seems to happen with me (not these last times, although it already had), it affect the other players mostly. And I've tested with about five or six people, sometimes using same network. The message they are getting is the one in the picture attached - it is in BR Portuguese, but it translates like "You were disconnected from Paradox Online services, possibly because you made login somewhere else. Some services are not going to work properly until you make login again". Me, I just get a message saying "player x is disconnected from server" or something like that. But sometimes also have to relog in the account.

I've tried everything at hand.

- Used a VPN (my pc only), set it to USA.

- Logmeln Hamachi on every pc involved.

- Tried at many different locations myself, yes.

-Disabled every adapter we were not using.

- Disabled avast and all its modules.

Nothing works, and I have no clue on what is going on. Only thing I can say is that every other game that do not rely in Paradox services are doing just fine. Can you guys please at least give me some insight on what to do, if you do not recognize this as a problem you will try to work on and solve yourselves?

In no way am I suggesting you do not have this problem.

But for this to be reported to the developers it needs to be able to be duplicated by QA and/or them. I'm trying to establish the scope of the issue here; if indeed it only happens when you are involved then it seems very likely it is not a general game bug, but some local issue. That said, the tests you have now done (thank you for that!) ought to have come out differently if that were so!

Is there any way you can try from a different location, on a different machine?

If you believe it is your Paradox account, can you make a second one with a different email, as a test?

I will try these, but it will take me some time. And after all this time, I have little hope anything is gonna work.

But I see that the problem is one of the followiong:

a) Some idiosyncracy in my machine. If that is the case, where should I look first? My PC is brand new, I use windows, etc. Also, why the other players disconnects, not me?

b) Some cryptic malfunction of something else entirely, out of my range or control, that affects random players trapping them in a Kafka-like nightmare they cannot escape.

There should at least be a way to play this game without the login in the account. It is way too bureocratic, you know.

Edit: maybe it is a false clue, but I found this topic of a very similar issue plaguing CK3 not long ago. Basically that is what is happening here, the account keeps reseting during MP sessions.

Is your machine an ASUS? If so they can have an MP 'helper' app (which we do not name in public) which crashes others' MP sessions, even computers.

Sorry for vanishing. I was waiting for ll these new updates and DLC content to undergo some new attempts.

No, it is not an ASUS, it is a Dell.

I sorry to inform that the problem persists. Multiplayr is currently non fucntional for me and for my friends.

I undesrtand that lots of people are playing with no issue, i alwys see the lobby is full of games going on. But I looked for someone having similar problem as me, and I think I found it:

This is exactaly what is going on here, now for astonishing 9 months or so. And as the above article states, "largely for reasons that are unknown to me, and which seem to not even have a high-profile response from the devs."

Thinking more, this may be related to the issue we've seen in CK3 for some time. We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.
  3. Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
  4. Click on Change adapter options.
  5. Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.

Use a VPN

- Obtain a VPN

- Set the country to the US (why this works is also an enigma ><)

- Start the game

- Sign in and see if it "sticks"
