Arsenal of Democracy has huge slowdown in Windows 8, it was very fast in Windows 7. Darkest Hour has slowdown too in Windows 8. It seems that the problem is with the Europa Engine. Is there a solution?

Tried to run it with XP compatibility mode or even with desktop composition and visual design turned off?
Probably the grahics driver not liking the 16Bit color mode. Please try setting your Windoze desktop to 16Bit colors and run the games in a window - any difference?

I couldn't find to reduce desktop colors from 32bit to 16bit. It seems Windows 8 has not real High Color (16 bit) mode. http://devgurus.amd.com/thread/160222
