I am especially concerned over Brittany, Savoy, Sicily and Bavaria.

They seem to lack a real "core" of provinces that assures a certain strength and their survival. Especially their intial poorness is a real problem. Anybody feels like that?

well, if Bavaria manages to take Wurzburg, they have 5 linked provs, but they indeed are a bit spread out. Maybe make Munich a bit richer, as it's supposedly the 'capital' of Southern Germany, no sharing the title with Vienna, I suppose.

In approx 95% of the times, Bohemia will turn heretic (protestant) in Aug 1419 and give Bavaria 4-7 cores (depending on the chosen option, most likely 4), at most 3 of them will be czech culture, while the other will be german. When Swabia turn protestant in early 16th C, Bavaria will probably gain cores on 4-6 additional provinces, all german.

the problem is, offcourse, that those Bohemian provinces are also in Hungary's sphere of influence, and thus not that easy gains.

Might be an idea, needs a new description offcourse. Makes the Netherlands more of a homeland, and Brabant does start as a vassal. I got some other ideas, but thse require a little more work.

true, I copy-pasted that event to have one for the province of Brabant, country HAU, too. So, the event that's in is for Würzburg, this one for Brabant :)

Brittany does have western france and southern england as a core.. Should be a viable MP player.

Any country with french culture is going to be a viable MP nation, particularily if there is only one player in Gaul (somewhat likely).

If Savoy inherits Languedoc, they get a bit bigger quite quickly. However, they'd need to be diplomatic, coz they wouldn't want to piss off Burgundy while they're in Granada's path.

I think any of those nations *could* be viable, though. Give Brittany, Bavaria, or Sicily to players like HolisticGod and Damocles, and the results might be very interesting. If they're played by more average players such as myself, how they do will depend on the diplomatic situation.

Brittany has good exploration / colonization options to balance it out against other Gaulish majors. Sicily is somewhat like Brandenburg in 1419 / 1492 imo, it's success depends on diplomatic achievement a lot.

I think that with 3 cultures (French, anglo-saxon and Celtic) Britanny is clearly a viable nation in MP, except maybe if there is a player for Burgundy. but then they can ally against the Hanseatic league to their common interest (Flander for Burgundy, East England for Britanny).

BTW we are planning on starting an aberration MP on the French forum, could you remind me what are the steps to play a mod game in MP?

@ Avernite:

If you could also rewrite the subscription.:)

@ Johan, Artemis667, Byakhiam:

Until Richemont, things tend to get rough for Brittany, especially with Scotland and both Burgundy looming.

But in the latest version I made their mp situation a bit better than before.

Savoy is very strong defensively but it should be difficult, so it is ok.

@ Sam Vimes:

Pming you.
