I keep getting the error message "Unable to melt ironman save" and then a converter error. The save game isn't ironman and I don't have any mods installed.

All saves were made binary, and I wasn't quite as ready for 1.4 as I thought I was. It should be within the next couple days.

The converter is now updated and 1.4 is properly supported.

How does railway converted?

It's a bit complicated. Why are you asking? Is it producing bad results in your game? Or are you just curious?

It's more like I don't want it to produce bad results in my game and since the wiki didn't mention it i also wonder if the converter just gonna use vanilla railway

The routes are based on the significant provinces in Vic3, so fairly fixed. The only real things to do would be to support your own rail industry and try to avoid split states.

Any news on a new release?

We're quite close. I've had a heck of a week, which has slowed me down. Two items left to implement (one of which is very simple) for me. And one thing from our newest contributor that I'd like to see get in beforehand.

However, do remember that all our fixes and new features are continually built to the converter you can download. Releases just mark a point of having implemented a bunch of things.

What would the next version add?

I've tried converting my Vic3-game in 1870 just to test if it works... and it doesn't. Log attached.

I'm assuming it is due to the mods I use in V3. I tried to see if I could load the game with the mods disabled and it totally messed up the world, as in, not just the economy, but the entire map, and disabling certain mods will straight up just cause a crash to desktop, so that isn't really an option, atleast not disabling them all. I can't really read the logs and make head nor tails of it, but is there any hope of getting this game to work in HoI4? I'm thinking if there is a hint to exactly which mod it is that is causing it and see if I can get a sort-of working map from that and disable that/those mods just before I convert?
Game just won't open, I just get the messege

"Failed to load the map

Some errors are present in the definition and have been logged to error.log

You might want to disable your mods and try again.
If that fails, check the integrity of the game files inside steam.
If that fails, try clearing your user directory from the launcher."

I also included the error.log file.
I did try checking the integrity of the game files and clearing the user directory, didn't help.

Thankful for any help, but I do realise the hopes seem pretty slim and I'll probably not be able to get a working HoI4-map out of this.

The "Vic3 province x005ED2 was not in a state" warnings are the biggest hint of something going on. I'd guess that one of the mods changes the map (disabling it would only makes things worse). You can check to see which ones changed the map_data folder. You may need to update the province mappings for that mod. The log file lists the mods used for the save and the location it found them on your disk near the top, so that should make it relatively easy to look through them.

If you want to go ahead with adjusting province mappings let me know and I can point you at our tool.

Probably Mediterranean Architecture which apparently changes the map in a broken fashion. Cold Water Ports also doesn't sound good. But to make matters worse he's running this in addition to a Converted - Megacampaign2 mod - and conversion mods explicitly rely on vanilla map for obvious reasons.

I'd say the save itself is quite borked from the start.

I suspected as much. This is a megacampaign converted since IR. I was really careful about not adding any map-changing mods in CK3, EU4 I didn't run any mods in, but I guess I didn't think it through when it came to Vic3. Cold water ports only add province modifiers though, but then again I wouldn't have suspected Mediterranian architecture at all as I figured it as a purely cosmetic mod, so who knows.

Thanks for the reply. I have very little experience with doing modding of my own. I'll take a look, but honestly I guess this megacampaign will just end in 1936. I'll make sure to be more careful with mods in my next megacampaign though.

Thanks for all the work you guys put into these converters. This megacampaign have been the most fun I have had in PDX-games for a long time. :)

It's been a busy couple of weeks, so progress on the last feature intended for 0.2 has been slow. This does mean that other volunteers have had the chance to put in some important features that I had planned to postpone.

As well, I've created a mod that tweaks some of the significant provinces to make VP locations and railroads come out better: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ap-recommendations-for-north-america.1593760/

Activate it on your save at any time before converting.

0.2 - Blamey
NOW RELEASED!

0.2 Blamey - for Vic3[1.3-1.4] and Hoi4[1.13]

Welcome to another release of the converter! At this point, most of the basics in the world are in place. Many country internals are now in place, and there's been some attempts at balancing. Focus trees, decisions, and events are still limited to generic ones, so the world is still static without some effort to add your own trees. Thus this is still most suited for people who already heavily customize their conversions (still looking at you, Something Awful crowd) or multiplayer megacampaigns where you collectively make something happen

All changes are pushed to the converter immediately, so make sure to update the converter every time you run it!

We do log a lot of balance-related information, so it would be helpful if you shared log.txt from the converter directory even for conversions that succeed. That'll help us determine the correct balance. As well, we know there's a bunch of weird map stuff. If you find more, please report them here.

As well, I've created a mod that tweaks some of the significant provinces to make VP locations and railroads come out better: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3040854878

It's usually something like C:\Users\<your windows username>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 3\mod
You can navigate there by first going to documents.
