Victoria 3 will occasionally cause all CPU cores to spike to 100% usage, causing the system to freeze. This can range from a second or so to 30+ seconds. This doesn't seem to be associated with anything like game saves, and happens at random.
Things I have tried:
- Setting FPS caps (both in-game and in the Nvidia Control Panel)
- Playing at a lower in-game speed
Neither worked, the system stutter will still happen periodically.
System specs:
- Ryzen 7800X3D (default settings)
- 32GB RAM (manufacturer XMP profile applied)
- 4070 Ti Super (default settings)
- Game is on an NVME SSD (same drive as Windows, too)
(the storage devices and GPU were used in my previous PC and didn't have any issues, so I doubt it's them)
Other people have had this similar issue and posted here, so I'll include the log files they had requested of them:
- dxdiag log
- pdx_settings file
- Error/system.log files
Not sure what this could possibly so, so any help would be great!
