Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible

After installing the game i experience CTDs all the time, also sometimes followed by a Discord disconnect. The CDTs happen usually when i click on sandbox mode, but also when choosing a country or just in the starting loading screen. No error message, just straight CTD. It seems to work when i close Discord, which i actually dont want to do, because i like playing with friends and communicating while playing my games.

Things i already tried:

- verifying files
- reinstalling
- deleting all the Victoria Files in Documents and Steam then reinstalling
- ticked "Disabling Fullscreenoptimisation" in the Vicotoria 3.exe
- run 60 FPS, no v-sync

Please explain how to reproduce the issue

If you unload Discord, or at least disable its overlay, before starting the game, does that help at all?

If not, right click on Victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Stopping Discord made the game work once. But testing it today... it didnt and crashed when i tried loading the game. And i would very much like using Discord during my game. Disabling the Overlay didnt change anything

Already did that, didnt change anything. Did it again... nothing changed.

Already added those see post above. There is no exceptions.log.

You are pretty low on swap space, please expand your Windows paging file maximum size to at least 32gb

You are pretty low on swap space, please expand your Windows paging file maximum size to at least 32gb

This seemed to be the problem, after changing it, the game works. But iam kinda confused since Vic 3 is the only games thats crashing because of it.
Since iam not the only one with that problem, maybe this should be fixed from the Dev side.

I have seen other signs that the game can use excessive memory, similarly with CK3 in fact (same game engine). If there is no report on that in Bug Reports here, please make one!

That said, almost every Windows installation I see has (IMO) inadequate page file settings, 8 or 16gb only. I think i should be 32gb at the least, 64gb for some users.
