Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I wanted to join a multiplayer game with my friends this afternoon. Of course, to join a multiplayer game you have to be connected with your Paradox Account. I tried it, then kept saying "logged in..." but nothing happened, and then it just says "Unknown error".

I have restarted my PC, linked and unlinked my steam account and my paradox accounts, changed the password, verified the integrity of the files, uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher of the game, it keeps happening.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue


Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
I have been able to connect to my paradox account on any browser AND from the game launcher, but the game itself seems not to recognize that I am connected.

Hi! Moving the thread to Tech Support since it is sadly not a game bug, but rather a connection issue on user end :/

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close Vic3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up Vic3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters
Go to Windows Control panel.
Click on Network & Internet.
Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click all network adapters that are not connected to the internet and select the Disable option.


Use a VPN
- Obtain a VPN
- Set the country to the US (why this works is also an enigma ><)
- Start the game
- Sign in and see if it "sticks"
