Short summary of your issue
[Linux] No sound or audio settings

Game Version
1.0.3

What OS are you playing on?
Linux

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
9

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
Running the game under Debian Unstable with pipewire 0.3.59 there is no sound at all. Even the audio settings menu doesn't show any entries. pipewire-pulse is running, so other software only compatible with Pulseaudio works as expected (e.g. Stellaris).

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Just start the game on any system running pipewire-pulse as sound daemon (probably).

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game

No

There is also a thread in the Tech Support forum, but I thought creating a real bug report would be better.

I realize both Ubuntu 22.04 as well as Debian Unstable are not officially supported, but seeing as this issue does not represent itself with other software not supporting Pipewire -- even older Paradox games like Stellaris -- this seems like an oversight.

Hello sir. I'm also using pipewire on Arch. I noticed this problem only occurred when I launched Victoria 3 while some other app had a sound output because Victoria 3 uses ALSA for the sound output. I fixed the problem by installing the pipewire-alsa package. Try looking for a similar package on Debian.

I found a package with the same name on Debian. Have you tried installing it?
