Short summary of your issue
Terrible lag, doesn't recognize Nvidia driver on Ubuntu

Game Version
1.0.3

What OS are you playing on?
Linux

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
7

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
So the game runs OK-ish (albeit with terrible graphics) with Intel UHD. However, when I'm trying to switch to GPU in in-game settings, the only other option I have is LLVMpipe, it doesn't show my Nvidia GPU at all. And if I switch to LLVMpipe, the lags become terrible (literally unplayable).

OS: Ubuntu 22.04
Chipset: Intel® Core™ i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz × 16
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: Nvidia Quattro RTX 3000 (mobile), 6GB. Driver version: 520.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

I have attached a save game
No

Having the same issue, i have much worse pc 16gb, 960m, slightly older cpu, game on hdd, low graphics settings. I want to be able to play decently please. Swapping pan mode to 8-direction feels reduced lagging very slightly (still terrible). Also can we have to the option to reduce pan speed, its too fast for me.

Hey there Aeroclub, thanks for reaching out to us!

In this case, the only title that doesn't identify your Nvidia Quadro would be Victoria 3 correct? Also, are you using a manually created Xorg configuration or the automatic one provided by running #nvidia-xconfig?

I'm sorry if any of the questions end up being redundant, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Just to add to the feedback... It even lags my desktop apps like browser when running but if i zoom out (to 2d map), lag disappears and game become playable, i think lag is caused by rendering.

Correct, the other games (including CK3, which by the looks of it uses the same version of game engine) identify the card just fine. And yes, Xorh config was automatic.

Thank you both for replying back and sharing the information you have on what has ensued!

In this case, the issue could be happening due to the drivers themselves, while I comprehend it has worked on prior Paradox games, as you mentioned. I would recommend trying to do a full reinstallation of the GPU drivers to their current stable revision and if possible trying to isolate/ignore the integrated graphics card to avoid any attempts of the game to default to it.

Feel free to let us know of any other additional findings you can, and thank you for your time!

Already done: full "purge remove" and clean re install of the current 520. Also, the system is forced to use GPU.
