Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
When i try to launch the game I get the error, "Launching the game failed. Please verify the integrity of your game files. If you are using Windows, you may also need to install Visual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework."

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
I have verified integrity of game files, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, ran as administrator, and tried installing launcher v2, and have c++ Redistributable and .NET Framework installed, all to no avail.

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?

Exact same issue. Tried reinstalling the launcher, didnt work. Tried full game reinstallation, didn't work. Tried running the game exe file directly, didnt work.

I received the same launcher message and was unable to launch the 1.7.0 update to CK3 recently. The following day they released a hotfix (avx_hotfix) and it worked fine. I'm guessing this is related to whatever went wrong back then.

I received the same launcher message and was unable to launch the 1.7.0 update to CK3 recently. The following day they released a hotfix (avx_hotfix) and it worked fine. I'm guessing this is related to whatever went wrong back then.

Nice to see they learned from a previous error. Oh wait.

1. Exit the Steam app entirely
2. Uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

3 Run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user
4. Run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

Same problem here. Tried all mentioned workarounds. If its indeed missing (or older) CPU AVX problem, I do have a quite old CPU, an Intel Core i7-920 which does not yet have AVX support. First time I cannot run an Paradox game (and was able to play CK3).

I'm in the exact same situation as the OP, I tried this and when I pressed PLAY on Steam it just installed the Launcher again and at the end I got the same error...

Edit: The exact same issue happened to me some time ago in CK3 and Pdx released a beta patch to fix something related to AVX if I'm not mistaken, possibly the same issue?

I tried this. Including removing Victoria 3 files under /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria 3/.
When opening Victoria from Steam, launcher is installed again, update for launcher received, installed, and then the same error occurs:

"Launching the game failed. Please verify the integrity of your game files. If you are using Windows, you may also need to install Visual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework"
Now verified also game files through steam, and have isual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework installed (tried installing them again and checked for updates). Also does not solve anything.

When I launch the game from steam, the launcher is automaticaly reinstalled, i got an error message, then a patch is applied, the launcher asks for a restart and BOOM ! Same Result XD

Have tried reinstalling everything but it does not work. Same error as the first image. Is there any hope that it will be fixed soon?
p.S: CPU didnt support "AVX" - is this realy needed? Then i want my money back.
