I'm having a problem getting the game to start. This occurs before the video plays, so that is probably what is causing it.

What happens is that the screen blinks likes it's about to play Strategy First's crappy video. Then an "illegal error" message pops up with this readout:

EUROPA caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0167:bff7b9a6.

I've made no changes to hardware/software, this just started happening. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Andrew

PS-Game was working fine until about two days ago, and I also tried a reinstall.

I'd guess a video driver problem. Make sure your OS ha sthe latest SP, then update your video driver to the latest, then reinstall EU. Oh, you might try a latest directx also.

Is there anyway to just disable the bloody thing?

If AndrewT suggestions doesn't work, then there is another possibility.

Kernel32.dll error messages that comes out of nowhere are usually caused by Trojan Horse or Spyware. I suspect the later. Just download Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.de and follow the instructions to remove everything from your system.

Also perform a virus check on your system, I doubt it's a virus or TH, but you never know.
