3b is in the cover of the rice paddy. Not the best cover, but it's better than being out in the field. I suggest you either hold position or advance.

If you move, you'll be out of effective range, and you're likely to take hits getting back to where you were before. Best to stay put and hit uhm hard.

Cheef, you and 6 should secure the South village first. If we need reserves, they can move up later.

Sixth move to S-21 and use the building as cover.

Update

The western force of Bravo-Company started to encircle the village of Cam Tay, while the firefight continued. B-Squad of 3rd Platoon and 4th Platoon had one wounded each, but the US forces slowly gained fire superiority. Finally the southern enemy unit started to rout westward.

In the southeast, all three Platoons moved westward, with 2nd and 5th Platoon being surprised by fire out of the woods. While 2nd Platoon has one wounded, one of 5th was KIA.

"Bravo-Company, this is Captain Stuckenschmidt. 25th Aviation Regiment reported, that a squadron of UH-1 is in the area on its way back from a recon mission and can make one run to support us. Specify target to attack. Over and out."

Ok. Third, keep up the attack on the North. Thandros, please split off a fireteam and get some movement into your attack. 2, 5 and 6, suggest you move to clear out those VC in the forest. Careful to avoid being cut off though.

Would suggest we bring in gun-run on 2 VC units in the woods.

Ok first, A will stay put and cover the town, laying down suppression on any enemy sighted. B to move to F12. APCs to reverse to N12 and lay down heavy suppression on the VC at N18.

Tell the flyboys to make a North-South gun run across P21.

6th move into the woods and fire on the VC at P-21

Fifth Platoon move to R-20 and engage the VC at point-blank range.

Don't forget about the air support mentioned in the update ..

Cheef, Hannibal, thoughts on the gun run?

Well we can't really gun run a village, so one of the VCs in the woods would be the best choice. I don't care which one.

I Suggest we hit the Northern Forest One as the Southern One can be hit by two Platoons which maybe enough to at least force a retreat while the Northern One is only fighting One platoon so it's more even up there so We should hit that one to tip the odds more in our favour.

I agree with Thandros. Plus, if we kill that one it will be easier for me to get to the northern village to help you guys take that than it would be for anyone else.

The Northern village is fine as is. 2, 5 and 6 need to clear those Charlies out of the woods and secure the South. If we hit the Southern VC unit, 5 and 6 can flank the other guy, who will be under fire from the APCs and second.

Update

In the west the fighting continued and B/3rd Platoon lost one man due to a deadly wound. But with 4th Platoon and A/3rd advancing from north and south, the remaining defenders realized that there was no way to escape left. Shortly after, five Viet Cong surrendered.

In the southeast, the enemy at P21 came under heavy pressure being outgunned and additionally gunned from a squadron of UH-1. After probably severe casualties, the enemy unit disapeared in the woods.

"Bravo-Company, this is Captain Stuckenschmidt. Good work so far. Both villages seem to be safe. Don`t forget to leave garrisons of 10 soldiers at U20 and F7 and establish an entrenchment at F12. Bring the POW to F7. Brigade sends a team that pick them up for interrogation after the mission."

Ok. Hygge, can you take 3rd and secure the North village and junction? I'll leave the APCs at the Junction to back you up should anyone attack. Cheef, can you secure the South village?

Everyone else, let's destroy that remaining VC unit and head into the jungle, this area needs to be cleared.

1st regroups at H14 after 1b checks for mines along the road. APCs roll to the T junction and there assume defensive positions to help 3 secure the area.
