Virus Scanner Disabled Editor

Hello, I'm presently running AVG [Free] as a virus scanner. I just recently got this message: Threat Detected! While opening file: d:\Games\Paradox Interacive\Armageddon\Editor.exe
Tojan horse Downloader Agent AKRQ?
AVG either then deletes the .exe or denies me access, this only happened with its latest update. It even does it with a fresh install of my game CD. Can anyone help me ? :wacko:

There have been a few threads about this. Yes, several virus programs have started treating the editor as a virus/hostile program.

Atm there isn't anything you can do to get the editor back then to reinstal the game. You can usinging AVG tell it to ignore the editor (if you just open the folder that the editor is in a warning will appear, and you can just pick Ignore

I think the editor also has something todo with uncompressing multiplayer saves dl from host.

Atleast since i got the warning and put the editor in the virus vault i have been unable to uncompress save files sent to me through the Multiplayer start menu.

Perhaps this is just coincidental. Will find out on Sunday when i try with a restored editor.

Maybe libbz2.dll got quarantined along with the editor. Pretty sure that's what handles the savegame compression.
