Have you though about when vnet goes down how you would be affected!!!

How much is vnet worth to the Hearts of Iron junky in you?

Would you pay a nominal monthly or yearly fee to be able to continue playing you favorite strategy game in well-hosted lobby with less lag and better player control?

Would you pay five dollars a month, or fifty dollars a year for this? Please tell me your opinions on what vnet is worth to you.

Just a survey and would enjoy some imput.

Thank you in advance.

Considering you can play via IP for free....... no i wouldnt pay,

I wouldn't pay either, already paid for the game, so MP should be included. When I bought it, I was happy that there is a good lobby like valky to play in. Now they are shutting down valky, but ofc my money that I paid for the game stays there... so kinda unfair I think.

But we still have direct IP and hamachi, so hopefully the game works well with them. :)

The same for me. I don't see any reason to pay monthly fees. I pay for a game that include multiplayer. By the way I never succeded in doing a MP game because the version is never the good one. There is always a different code JUKP or XCFG or TTHR... never never had the good one to play with somebody else... so paying for a not completly working feature is not worth...

And Valkyrienet would lose its most important feature if it was not free. There would be so few users that you couldn't set up a game there and you would still have to use the forums for that. And if you set up a game at the forums you could as well play with direct IP

Lets see.....Yesteday I had some free time and had no other games planned so I decided to go into vnet and try to get a game going.

There were the normal losers that are there 24/7 and a few others. When I asked if people wanted to play, several people inquired. After about 5 mins it seemed clear to me that we had enough players to start. So I decided to switch over to my laptop and host a game. Not one of the people that showed an interest entered the game. Surprise!!! loll Same ole ....

Getting a good game going on vnet is almost impossible unless you know and trust the people. I have much more fun playing with friends that I have known throughout the years.

Paradox needs to make it so that you can have only one screen name per licensed version of the game. This will cut down on the nonsense that goes on here. Very simple concept and if any of you play MP C&C you'll know exactly what I mean. The language that is allowed on Pdox servers is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

BTW, there is no charge to play on most MP servers.

So would I pay for this?> Never! Vnet is like a child care center without enough adults keeping an eye on the kiddies. Please..........and joshua why do you care? You're just another person that is on my endless list of people that play HOI that are not reliable.

One of the main reasons I dont play WoW is because they want 15USD every month.. Pft!!!

I'll wait for HOI3.

i think the better question is.....what is vnet worth to paradox?....seems to me that there is a constant flow of new players that come to vnet to learn what the game is about. how to join and set up games.....it stands to reason if these new players have no where to go to do this, they might just put hoi on the shelf and never play it again. and thus have no interest in hoi3!...imho ending vnet before hoi3 is up and running would be foolish for paradox as they would most likely lose potential hoi3 players and thus lose sales!

I would easily pay US$5 a month to play in a good lobby.

Aussie group has picked up many players (myself included from vnet)

It shall be missed

Noouuu, the dream is over! Now our game group has to vote between hamachi and direct IP. Valky will be missed forever. I wish I had taken pics of it before it ended... :(

It is a shame thay closed down V net becuse Know it is most likely that New players wont Know where to go In fact I only got in two or three Days before its close  so that when we all get bored and leve Doomsday will become Forgoten

but No I whould not pay for it

I'd like to see the net benefits of the new metaserver system. It seems it's designed to prevent piracy, but the promotional value of fully playable pirated versions did, at least as far as myslef is concerned, persuade a number of players to purchase the game.
I wouldn't mind the metaserver so much, except registration is tied up with a forum whose supervision is somewhat schitzophrenic, if user "Dermeister" is to believed.
